What is it? 

Search and replace one or more values from your catalog before using it on different channels and save a lot of time in your channel management.

How does it work? 

 

Search for a specific term or the full value of a field and replace it with a new, more appropriate value.

Example: I search the value "bleu marine" in my catalog and I replace it by "bleu".

I save my changes, then I see on the home page that my rule is in "Waiting publication" status.

I click on "Preview and publish changes" to check if my affected products are correctly changed, then I click on "publish" to save and publish my changes in my catalog.

Definitions

Case sensitive: The search will be case sensitive. Here the values ​​"Bleu marine" from my catalog will not be modified because the first letter is a capital letter and we search for the exact term "bleu marine".

Entire word: The Find and Replace will apply to the whole word. If the word found contains one more letter, the Find and replace will not apply. Here the values ​​"Tee-shirt bleu marine" of my catalog will be modified by "T-shirt bleu" after application of the change.

Entire field: The Find and Replace will only target fields where only the searched value is present. If other characters are before or after the word or phrase searched, it will not apply.

Note: It is not mandatory to select one of these options to change values. Remember to check the impacted values ​​and publish your changes to use them in your channels.
